Thanks so much to everyone who supported our #indiepodfest19 campaign on Pozible – unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in raising the funds required to put on the festival, so it won’t be happening this July.
Watch this space, though! This isn’t the last you’ll hear from indiepodfest – we’ll be back in the future with some alternate ideas to support the local independent podcasting community.
indiepodfest Co-Director Carla Donnelly’s podcast Across the Aisle has won the inaugural “Best Audiogram” category at the 2019 Australian Podcast Awards. Prizes include a discount for the Pozible platform, 2 years premium access to the Headliner application (used to make the Audiogram) and a $300 cash prize. All 2019 winners are currently featured on the front page of iTunes. Discover your new favourite podcast today!
#indiepodfest19 has launched! Check out our Pozible campaign to buy tickets to the festival. There are workshops, day tickets, weekend passes and live podcast recordings in the evenings. We have speakers from wonderful podcasts such as Love and Luck Podcast, Two Words with Taku, People Movers, Neighbuzz: The Neighbours Recap Podcast, By Association, Sisteria Podcast, Splendid Chaps Productions, Club Soderbergh, Hell Is For Hyphenates, The Sweetest Plum, More Than A Whelan and many more to be announced during the campaign.
This is an all or nothing campaign so don’t delay buying your festival tickets! If you can’t be there in person or just want to support the festival consider buying a ticket or a digital membership. Please share with other podcast lovers in your life and see you there!
Get out your calendars and pop in these dates – indiepodfest is set to take over the Brunswick Mechanics Institute on the weekend of July 12, 13 and 14.
We’re so excited to be bringing this festival to Melbourne. Over the coming months we have a lot of work to do on finalising the program, panel participants, workshop facilitators and live podcast recordings! Our time line is as follows:
12th of April – publish expression of interest results and feedback
19th of April – finalise program and publish Pozible campaign
19th of May – Pozible campaign closes
As this is our first year we need to run a Pozible campaign to make sure the festival is successful. In tandem we will be working hard in the background to get all the best minds in indie podcasting to present and perform. Follow all our socials (facebook, twitter) to remain updated on our progress.
Another exciting announcement! Festival Co-Director Carla has had two of her podcasts score a nomination in the Australian Podcast Awards.
Club Soderbergh for Best Fancast and
Across the Aisle for Arts, Literature and Music and Headliner
Across the Aisle also won the 2018 Arts and Entertainment category. We are excited to share our passion for indie podcasting with you in July.
We can finally announce that indiepodfest Co-Director Ben McKenzie’s audio series Night Terrace has been licensed for broadcast by the BBC! Night Terrace was crowdfunded into production on Kickstarter and is available as a digital purchase, rather than as a traditional podcast.
Ben will draw on his experience as producer, writer and performer on Night Terrace at indiepodfest in July.
What’s indiepodfest? It’s a festival for independent, or aspiring, audio creators and podcast fans. There’re no networks or brands; just practical, grassroots information and inspiration for your podcasting passion. Hosted in Melbourne, over a weekend in July (date to be confirmed) – there will be workshops, panels and live events to cater to everyone’s interests.
It’s for you! And so we can ensure we give you what you need please fill in our brief survey.
